Dawn After Night, Spring After Winter
Box Hill Trail
Post Two
As you come to each post, stop for a moment to read each prompt and build your story as you walk. You can also play this at home on an imaginary adventure.
Listen to an audio recording of each post below.
2: The moss
As you come to the second marker, look around you. Many of the larger plants here are covered in a green fur, “moss”. Run your fingers over it. Look closely. Are there different types of moss that you can see, on the trees and stumps?
For each moss that you find, is the moss...
Furry or sharp?
Soft or hard?
Abundant or rare?
Moist or dry?
Green or brown?
Something else?
Where has the moss grown?
Moss is a sign of the health of a forest. Moss is home to a diversity of creatures and show the ecosystem is stable. Tell your journal what you have found, and what it might mean mission.
Continue on the path to the next marker.
