Dawn After Night, Spring After Winter
Hutchinson’s Bank Trail
Post Eight
As you come to each post, stop for a moment to read each prompt and build your story as you walk. You can also play this at home on an imaginary adventure.
Listen to an audio recording of each post below.
8: The track
Through the gate, turn left up the track.
We’ve reached the bottom of the bank. Turn to your left and take the path. Look at the trees in the distance. Are they moving in the wind? How does this place change in the seasons. Imagine this place with the fresh green of Spring, the colourful flowers of Summer, the red leaves of Autumn and the skeletal branches of Winter. Now let’s build our story.
What does your character hold to help them on their journey?
A staff to help on rugged ground
A shield to protect
A compass to show the way
A notebook to mark your path
Sturdy shoes that can handle any terrain
Invent something else
Your character has something with them. Describe this object. What does it look like? What is written on it? What memory does your character have of the moment they first held this precious thing?
